Hiya, Leisel! Long time, no see! Hey, when our bitch was spayed, the vet told us (as opposed to the E-collar), to put a pair of men's tidy whities on her. Just tuck her tail out the slit in the front (so the front of the briefs is on top of her back), and then safety pin it snug(ish) around her. It's way more comfy, and the backside of the briefs protects her little stitches.

Happy B-day!

Bummer about Zhaan - here's hoping the 10 days goes quickly! I remember getting a cat of mine neutered & declawed - he tore the stitches out of his paws at 9 at night - we were at the emergency vets for 2 hours. Sigh. Plus kitty blood over the entire house 'cause he was hard to catch! Those were the days...

Toni

Happy belated! Sounds like you had a busy day--poor Zhaan.

Kris

Happy birthday!

Is Zhaan insterested in the stitches? We managed to go e-collar-less for the spaying and two knee surgeries because Lani didn't look twice at hers (the vet said it was fine to skip the collar if she wasn't licking or chewing). Good luck with the rest of the healing process!

Happy Birthday!!

Michelle

Happy Birthday!! I had to come by and see how you were doing.

I forgot to mention Yay! for the turning heel! Isn't that the best feeling when turning the heel! Good looking sock there. Can't wait to see them finished!

Those socks look mighty good!!! Great color too.
Happy birthday to you!!!!
I didn't even know they use those collars on dogs after spaying. My Golden was spayed and was basically back to normal the next day. The first day she was too out of it to even care and the next day everything seemed forgotten, she never bothered her stitches at all. If your does try to nibble, a large rolled up towel around the neck will equally prevent them from reaching their hind quarters, its more comfortable and she can lie down easier with that.
