I think they all are lovely colors but the middle one is my favorite as well. After my self-imposed yarn diet, I might have to pick a bunch up. Good luck on the yarn dyeing, it's always so much fun.

Yep - I love the middle color too. But ALL the yarn you showed is yummy! Best of luck with the yarn dyeing - you never know what you'll come up with!

KnitPicks might be able to tell you the information you need... especially since you'll be ordering the yarn and pattern from them. Try sending them an e-mail.

Leisel-- I have some Paint Your Own sock yarn, if you would like it. I bought 10 skeins of it, and I've got about three skeins I haven't even touched yet. Let me know if you want any to play with. KnitPicks, out of Paint Your Own? What is the world coming to?

My order of Paint Your Own laceweight showed up in the mail today. I'm impressed with it, and now I can't decide if I want to dye it, then knit it, or knit it then dye it!

I like the middle color the best as well.

If you want to borrow some dye-equipment (since once you use it for dye, you can't use it for food), let me know. I have stainless steam tray inserts that I use for soaking the yarn, and a steamer that's been used just for dyes.

What a fun box you received from KnitPicks! I too like the middle color the best.

Hi Leisel,

This is Adele from Passioknit. Just dropping by to answer you question about the scarf pattern. It can be found in Vogue Knitting International Spring/Summer 2005 -

Oh! Andean silk, how do I love thee...

Please let me be the first to encourage you in your Andean Silk adventure! I did an Hourglass in it (Barn Red) and cannot ooooze enough about this yarn. Love.It. And that Embers Andean Treasure, egads, that stuff is all but edible it's so soft. I was also unimpressed with the color when I first received my test ball, but on swatching it, well...let's just say that it deserves a shot. Maybe not for this project, but - oh hell - here, see for yourself: (this is an unblocked swatch, just fyi, and the cable actually looks much better in real life).

And also, can I vote? If so...I vote Andean treasure for the Liesel scarf.
